All eyes on me

image

This morning I woke with an odd feeling. As I got dressed I had the strange sensation I was being watched.
Sure enough 5 sets of eyes were staring at me.

A family of deer stood perfectly still watching. As I aimed the camera they took off. A family of five tromped across my yard as calm as could be.

Invasion!!!

image

First sight was large bunnies in the front yard so I went to get the camera and saw the quails in back. If you look up close towards the blue board one is nesting.  There were 20 more who ran around to the front so did I.
Well, look who is innocently walking away from the roses towards the pomegranate tree.

Must be good eating in my yard.

They’re Baackk

Trespassers en mas.  I love them now that I have my roses all caged up and protected.  Evidence suggested some large deer and tiny rabbits forced down the gate to my rose garden.

Shades of gray.

I learned 2 things today about gray and one about rose buds.

Mule deer are gray.

If you wash a new white shirt with new black jeans even in cold water the shirt will turn grey.
Mule deer eat rose buds even if the are orange.
