Yurt Mythology

Unfortunately the lovely poem/story I posted yesterday never made it to the blog. Since the winds ate kicking up and distant rumbles are being to shake the sky I thought I might share a bit of yurt spirituality with you.

This is the tono, the circle represents the universe and the stove smoke hole the sun. It is said the yurt is the connection between heaven and earth, or the womb of mother earth.
Opposite the door is the sacred spot and the place we’re one is to put the altar. I have painted a dragon entwined in the tree of life and he resides in the sacred location as protector of both the yurt and all within.
